Underground pressurized transformer substation series UMS-ExP
The UMS-ExP pressurized transformer substation series has been designed and developed to be installed in environments with potentially explosive atmospheres, using internal overpressure protection: this method of protection consists in introducing air into the substation, according to very precise sequences and methods – as result of calculations in the design phase – at higher pressure than the surrounding environment, in order to prevent explosions triggered by the gases present in the subsoil and possibly released from the excavation.
The UMS-ExP substations are released by a specific ATEX certification (European Union and related markets) or Class 1 Div.2 for the American market.
